Description

The calorific value is one of the most important quality parameter of solid and liquid fuels, like coal, coke, fuel oil and biomass as well as waste materials. Calorific value of a sample is determined by precisely measuring the heat released after combustion of the sample in a controlled environment. The heat released is proportional to the calorific value of the substance.

ASTM/DIN-approved, the robust AC500 Isoperibol Calorimeter from LECO quickly determines gross calorific content of solid or liquid fuels.

This stand-alone benchtop unit uses a fully-integrated circulation system for a compact footprint—no additional heaters or coolers required. An integral water-measuring station simplifies sample preparation.

Windows®-based operating system allows settings of all test parameters including special required ASTM or DIN calculations and corrections.

Operation

The AC500 achieves high precision across a wide range of sample sizes and ambient conditions. Results may be obtained using a choice of three modes: the traditional Regnault-Pfaundler = 20 minutes, Precision = 8 minutes, or Predictive = 4.5 to 7.5 minutes. LECO's AC500 Windows –based software seamlessly manages data, report generation, LIMS compatibility, and can control up to four separate calorimeters through a single PC.

Features:

  • Two-channel correction is possible through constant temperature monitoring in both the outer jacket and the calorimeter proper
  • Electronic thermometer accurate to 0.0001°C records temperature every six seconds.
  • Analysis modes available: Regnault-Pfaundler, Precision, and Predictive
